Unit 3

1.
My rating of myself A-physical well being, B-Spiritual well being, C-Psychological well being
A- 7
B- 1
C- 4

I love my body, I'm in great shape and I take care of it by eating right and exercising everyday.
I do not consider myself to be spiritual at all. I lost faith in anything when my husband went to war. I was born and raised Catholic but I do not believe in Jesus anymore. I don't know what I believe in and I am not sure were to start with that. Psychologically I've been through a lot in the past 3 years. I am sound mentally, but I am just all over the place with stress and I feel like my mind is constantly going 1000 miles an hour.

2.
Goals in each area
A- Physical Goal- Eat more fruit and vegetables everyday for the next 6 weeks.
B- Spiritual goal- Do research on religion and spiritualness and find what works for me in the next 6 weeks.
C- Psychological- Do relaxation exercises everyday for at least 2 minutes for the next 6 weeks.

3. For my physical goal I will have to go grocery shopping and buy more fruits and vegetables to eat. I can incorporate them in my meals everyday.
For my spiritual wellness maybe I can attend a service at a local church and talk to someone.
For psychological wellness I can try relaxation exercises with or without the help of relaxation videos online.

4.
I liked this relaxation exercise for the most part. It seemed like he wanted us to do a bunch of things and it was really hard for me to follow along in the beginning. You really had to use your imagination for this one. I started sitting in a chair, but then I moved to the floor to try and relax more. Imagining each color was very relaxing for me. It seemed like each color was bringing out different emotions. I'm also liked the music that was in the background, it helped to relax me as well.

  1. Dana-
Hello! I think your ideas for improving in each aspect of your life are all wonderful. I would highly recommend them all to those that I love, and to each of my clients. Every human on planet Earth could stand to benefit from them. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, when you increase your fruit and veggie intake, you also increase your clean fluid intake! It's a win-win for sure. :)

    Blessings-

  2. Hi Dana,

I understand how you could lose faith in that situation. I have never been a particularly religious person so I am not sure what I believe regarding religion. But you can be spiritual and not be religious. Being spiritual means you value things that are not material more highly than physical objects. I remember how I felt when my first husband had to go to South Korea for an 8 month tour and I was unable to go. I was a mess and it wasn't even a war zone so I can imagine how you must feel. Be strong. He will be back before you know it and this time will soon be a distant memory.

    Beth :)

  3. Dear Dana,
I enjoyed reading your blog posts today! I found that looking for small things that happen every day in my life helped me start to believe that there was something out there greater than me that was looking out for my best interests. I saw it in little miracles of life, for example looking at a rain drop and seeing a spectrum of light through it or looking at the ocean and how huge it is or the sky at night filled with all the stars. Siily things in daily life like a parking place that opened up, money that arrived just when I needed it,etc., anyway, enough of all that! My point is I started small and made my own vision of God, it does not have to be the version you were taught of a religious vengeful God, your God can be all loving or whatever you want to make it on your path to your spiritual discovery. Good luck on your path, Pamela Riedel
