Unit 8

The two excerises that I liked the best were the Loving Kindness and Subtle mind exercises.
I like the loving kindness becuase you direst the energy in your mind to other people. I have done this excersise alot since I first did it and it helped me get over somethings from my past. I think its important to forgive people, and help people, even if its just in our own mind people it helps us get through those times. The Subtle mind exercise was great because it helped me get focused for the day. It did not have too much direction and I was easily able to relax each time I did it.

    I too chose these two exercises. I also felt that the subtle mind practice is very beneficial for clearing the mind and relaxing at any point in the day. It has become a great tool that I utilize frequently. I have found the loving kindness practice to be quite powerful in some situations as the individual that I envisioned initially as a source of my “idea” of loving kindness is my 18 month old daughter. Having the vision or feeling of sharing or spreading this love to others even in the most difficult of situations can be amazing. I am glad that you have had such benefit with it and I can imagine that this has had benefit for those in your family as well.

  2. Dana; One of the things I feel rang true for all of us is relaxation and it helped us clear the mind of clutter. At the beginning of this course I experienced serveral anxieties, school, work, and just plain worry. By releasing my resistance to worry and integrating these practices into my daily life I have allowed relaxation to spread into my heart, mind and body leading to human flourishing and happiness. Last but not least, Kudos goes out to you for healing and forgiving relationships of the past. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

  3. Dana, I too have done the exercise so many times, I love it. I found myself to be very calm and more relaxed as well as clearing my mind of most things that were bothering me. Loving kindness is one of the best ones as it helps you forgive others and love others not dislike or hate. Hate is a strong word, so to me that is a great accomplishment to forgive someone.
